Long Deep Breathing
Long Deep Breathing is one of the core practices in Kundalini Jedi Warrior Training. It’s simple, powerful, and can be used every day—especially in moments of stress, anxiety, or overwhelm.
This breath works by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, helping your body shift out of “fight or flight” and into a state of calm, balance, and clarity.
Why Practice Long Deep Breathing?
Regular practice can help you:
- Calm anxiety and reduce stress
- Increase energy and vitality
- Improve focus and mental clarity
- Support emotional balance and resilience
- Cleanse and oxygenate the blood
- Strengthen lung capacity and function
- Stimulate feel-good brain chemicals (endorphins)
- Support healing—both physical and emotional
- Release energetic blockages and improve flow
- Break unconscious patterns like fear and insecurity
- Build greater control over your emotions and reactions
How It Works
Long Deep Breathing uses the full capacity of your lungs by engaging three stages of breath:
- Abdomen (lower lungs)
- Chest (middle lungs)
- Clavicle (upper lungs)
Each inhale fills the lungs from bottom to top.
Each exhale releases from top to bottom.
How to Practice
Sit comfortably with a straight spine (on a chair or the floor).
Inhale (in one smooth motion):
- Expand the abdomen (belly rises)
- Expand the chest (ribs widen)
- Lift the upper chest and collarbones
Exhale (reverse the process):
- Relax the upper chest and shoulders
- Let the chest soften
- Gently pull the navel back toward the spine to empty the lungs
- Breathe through the nose
- Keep the breath smooth and continuous
- Continue for 26 breaths or 3–31 minutes
For Beginners
Start by learning each part of the breath separately:
- Abdominal Breath: Belly rises on inhale, falls on exhale
- Chest Breath: Ribcage expands outward
- Clavicular Breath: Upper chest and shoulders lift slightly
You can place:
- One hand on the belly
- One hand on the chest
This helps you feel and control each stage of the breath.
Once comfortable, combine all three into one fluid breath.
The Result
With consistent practice, Long Deep Breathing becomes more than a technique—it becomes a tool for self-mastery.
It strengthens your nervous system, clears your mind, and reconnects you to your inner energy—your life force.
